Köln richtete 1968 als eine der ersten Großstädte islamische Grabfelder ein (Flure 20 bis 23, später V, W93 und W97). 2024 kam ein weiteres 1.500 m² großes Feld mit 120 Grabstätten in Flur W97 hinzu; sarglose Bestattung im Leinentuch und dauerhafter Erhalt der Grabstätte sind möglich.
